Floral’s in New York

There is a belief that, the city your heart feels most at home in, is the city you have spent your previous life in. Have you ever noticed when you visit a new country or city and you feel like you almost belong there. For me it has always been New York!

I will never forget the first time I visited NYC! I was 18 and all I dreamed about was becoming a fashion designer and moving to New York. The first time I saw the skyline it took my breath away. We have all seen it in movies and photos but there is something about that first view of the city from a distance that actually moves you to a point of sheer awe!

The most amazing thing about New York is no matter how often you visit, you always get that incredible feeling of excitement crossing over the Queensboro Bridge as you enter the city. I lived in Brooklyn, New York in 2013 for some months so this NY trip was great as we stayed on Long Beach and explored the city from the Nassau county area which was a nice change from a typical city stay.

I was soo excited to wear the cutest outfits from Pretty Little Thing and bring some floral vibes with me while visiting my favourite spots. I love the autumn floral trends that are everywhere right now and PLT honours the floral trend through cute co-ords and pretty play-suits!. The weather in September is perfect for exploring the city and upstate and you rarely need a jacket, in comparison to our Irish weather at this time of year the autumn in NY resembles a good Summer in Ireland.

I divided my time between the city and upstate New York, taking in Long Beach, Mahopac, Fire Island and Uptown and Downtown Manhattan. Irish Fashion Blogger

Without a doubt my favourite place to visit in Manhattan is Bryant Park. It is the perfect mix of being surrounded by a concrete jungle and entering a dream like garden from Alice in Wonderland. The park has a magical essence to it and whether you come to read, have lunch or just relax it is the city’s gem to come to unwind. After having tea from one of the cute cafes speckled throughout we decided to take in the whole of the park from a few angles to really show how beautiful it really is. I fell in love with this two piece floral frill co-ord from Pretty Little thing and when I was planning my New York visit I know straight away I wanted to shoot this outfit here! The buttercream, red and black colour tones are the perfect transitional colours for Autumn and accessorizing with a red lip colour brought my look to a whole new level of New York day-wear glam!

When visiting New York its always good to consider exploring further afield from Manhattan. Fire Island is a beautiful island off the south shore of Long Island and an hour and a half from the city.

We chose the perfect day to visit the island because it was the warmest day of our trip and what better way to spend a Sunday than heading on a water taxi to where New Yorkers come to spend their Summer. The island has everything from cute little houses to breath-taking sunsets. We strolled out to the dock and it was the perfect setting to shoot this cute black play-suit from Pretty Little Thing as the sun was setting in the background. All outfits from Pretty Little Thing –
